26 Feb

Saw this while standing in the checkout line at the Tian Tian 88 Supermarket in Richardson this weekend:

Essence of chicken drink…. mmm… refreshing.  Purchase comes with ONE free dinner plate!

Anyone have any clue what the heck this is?

    Found this…

BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken Drink with 4 Herbs

As you know, BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken helps to relieve tiredness and to restore both your mental and physical energy, by increasing your metabolic rate. When taken regularly, the nourishing goodness of BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken also helps to maintain your body’s health.

In traditional Chinese Medicine, the herb Tangkwei is considered an excellent tonic for the blood. For women, Tangkwei helps with menstrual problems.

It reduces pain and heavy flow and aids in blood regulation and restoration. It is used to treat anemia and is even believed to help with infertility.

Tangkwei is also used traditionally to treat pain in everyone, especially for those who suffer from arthritis and neuralgia.

Other traditional reasons to take Tangkwei include constipation, falls and bleeding, colds, and insomnia (sleeplessness).

It looks like $14.99 for some chicken bouillion with some herbs (hence the stick thin woman) and even comes with a free dinner plate!! Also, on the box is that a picnic blanket or a subliminal Twister mat? Hmm maybe I should sell “Essence of Water” and sell an empty used water bottle in the desert for $2.99 or so. I want to see if that catches on!

Mmm… Brand’s Essence of Chicken is good shit. It’s an energy drink that doesn’t use any kind of stimulant like caffeine. It’s a pretty successful product and has been around for years. It works wonders when I have to cram for an exam and because it’s stimulant free, I can mix it with my best friend, Adderall for that extra boost of energy and won’t get the jitters as a result.

This stuff doesn’t have much taste to it; best way I can describe it is slightly salty and thick chicken tea. It is expensive too but it’s worth it for me. After all, it did get me into Columbia, my dream school 😉

I’ve been meaning to reply sooner (a year sooner) and had put this into my to-do list on my phone but my fingers slipped and I entered the wrong year in the “due date” field. Sorry about that, Donna. No hard feelings?

This is really good stuff donna!

I’m an asian living in Singapore, and I gulp down 2 bottles of these everyday during my examination period. It increases mental alertness and reduces fatigue. Great for mothers too! My mom takes that on a regular basis.

Drinking that has long been a chinese tradition =)
